Nose Aesthetics (Rhinoplasty)

Nose aesthetics, or more commonly known as rhinoplasty, refers to surgeries performed to change the shape of the nose.

There may be several reasons to apply for rhinoplasty surgery. Among the reasons for rhinoplasty are the restoration of deformities that have arisen as a result of injury or the correction of birth defects. The surgery improves the physical appearance of the nose as well as some respiratory difficulties.

In some cases, rhinoplasty is considered as an option since patients both suffer from breathing difficulties and are dissatisfied with their physical appearance. Especially those with respiratory problems may want to change the shape of their nose from an aesthetic point of view while repairing respiratory problems.

What are the Consequences of Rhinoplasty?

Contrary to popular belief, rhinoplasty is a very challenging surgery. There are various reasons for this. First of all, the nose is a three-dimensional organ with a complex shape.

Changes made during rhinoplasty can be minimal, but this minimal modification can lead to a huge difference both functionally and aesthetically. While the time it takes to reach the ultimate desired result takes usually 1-2 years, it is very difficult to specify this period precisely. The time spent to reach the final result will differ from person to person.

Usually within a year, most of the swelling will disappear and the nose will take its final shape. In cases where revision surgery is required, at least one year must pass after the previous surgery.
