Nowadays, many different aesthetic operations are available for both men and women who seek to achieve their ideal physical appearance. One of these plastic surgery procedures is cheek refinement, also known as bichectomy operation.
The bichectomy operation gives the face a better appearance. It is also known as cheek surgery. With cheek refinement surgery, it is possible to have more prominent cheekbones and a thinner facial line.
How is Cheek Refinement Aesthetics Performed?
Cheek refinement operation is performed under local anesthesia. It is extremely important to perform oral hygiene before surgery.
Cleansing before the bichectomy surgery will minimize the possibility of risks such as infection. In the bichectomy operation, the surgeon intervenes with a small incision in the inner cheeks, next to the fat bags. The surgeon makes a small incision in the cheek under local anesthesia. Subsequently, bichat, i.e. fat tissue bags, are removed with forceps in order to achieve a natural appearance.
After the fat bags are removed, sutures are applied to the wound. This process is applied to both cheeks.
Cheek refinement surgery is generally completed between 15 and 30 minutes. The patient is discharged on the same day. There is no scarring after the bichectomy operation. As the procedures are performed from inside the cheek, there is no trace of surgery from the outside. Swelling is normal after the operation. These swellings will disappear after a while.
